Vladimir Putin announced candidacy for a new presidential term

MOSCOW, (Patria) - Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he will run for president in the upcoming elections in Russia in 2018. 

- I will run for president of the Russian Federation - Putin stated during a conversation with employees of the GAZ factory in Nizhny Novgorod.

After announcing his candidacy, the workers applauded enthusiastically, expressing their support.

- Thank you for this reaction, first of all, thank you for your efforts. Thank you for your attitude towards your work, the company, the city, the country. I am convinced that everything will be fine - said Putin.

Russia will only move forward, and in that forward movement, no one and nothing will ever stop it, emphasized the Russian president.

Previously, volunteers at the "Volunteer" forum in Moscow asked Putin if he would participate in the elections. The President of Russia replied that the decision to participate in the elections is a responsible one for every person and said that he would make a decision as soon as possible.

Putin was first elected President of Russia in March 2000, and was re-elected in 2004. From 2008 to 2012, he served as Prime Minister, and in 2012 he again became head of state.
