ZDK Government Has Been Paying Interest on Unrepaid Loans for Almost 20 Years

(Patria) - Sanja Renić, a representative of Our Party in the ZDK Assembly, has submitted an initiative to form a commission that would review and submit to the Assembly a list of all legal entities with whom the ZDK Government has signed commission agreements since 2003. The reason for this is certain loans whose repayment period has expired to date, but the Government continues to pay interest on them.

“In 2003, the ZDK Government took out loans from IK banka, today's ASA banka, in the amount of approximately five million KM as a form of incentive for the companies Natron Maglaj and KTK Visoko. The repayment period was five years, and the payment obligation rested with the aforementioned companies. They have not been repaid to this day, so the Government pays interest every year. The money of ZDK citizens paid to the bank based on interest now amounts to about 600,000 KM.

Why did Natron Maglaj and KTK Visoko not repay the loans? Who could have released them from that obligation? Why did IK banka, and now ASA banka, not act in accordance with the Law and take over the obligations from the Agreement? And finally, who is behind this amount of paid interest from budget funds, about 600,000 KM?

What raises even greater suspicion of criminal activities is that Natron Maglaj was privatized and sold shortly thereafter. The Privatization Agency failed here, as it should have transferred the debt repayment to the new owner. Due to all of the above, I am requesting the formation of a commission that should provide answers to the questions I have asked, as well as to whom, besides the two mentioned companies, similar arrangements were made with.”
