Government closed the Office for Representation in International Relations of the Sarajevo Canton in Brussels in 2016

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The announcement by the President of HDZ BiH, Dragan Čović, about opening a representative office in Brussels for cantons with a majority Croatian population has sparked numerous reactions, and many have compared it to the Sarajevo Canton Office in Brussels.

From the Government of the Sarajevo Canton, they issued a press release stating that the Government of the Sarajevo Canton, at its 28th session held on January 7, 2016, adopted a Conclusion to "close the Office for Representation in International Relations of the Sarajevo Canton in Brussels."

- Given that the mentioned office is closed, no funds are provided for its functioning in the Budget of the Sarajevo Canton - they stated from the Government of the Sarajevo Canton. 

Incidentally, the Sarajevo Canton Office in Brussels was opened in 2007, and it was the subject of discussion in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly several times due to the funds spent on its financing.
