The FBiH Government adopted the Proposal on Amendments to the Law on Games of Chance, under which all winnings from classical (lottery) and betting games will be taxed, regardless of the amount won, Patria reports.
The FBiH Government announced that at today's session in Sarajevo, it adopted and forwarded to the FBiH Parliament under urgent procedure the Proposal on Amendments to the Law on Games of Chance.
The amendments prescribe the obligation to pay tax on all winnings from classical (lottery) and betting games, regardless of the amount won. It is envisaged that the revenue from the withheld and paid tax will be directed to the budgets of municipalities and cities where the payment points (branches) where the winnings were realized are located, with the exception of tax collected on winnings from internet and SMS games, which is revenue for the budget of the Federation of BiH.
Until now, only winnings above 100 KM were taxed in FBiH. Experts believe that taxing even smaller amounts from games of chance will bring around 200 million KM annually to the FBiH budget, which could be used for social benefits, Patria reports.
