Government Sends Financial Police to Operator for RES and ECHP

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at today's emergency session held in Sarajevo, regarding the consideration of the Work Plan of the Operator for Renewable Energy Sources and Efficient Cogeneration for 2019, tasked the Financial Police to conduct an inspection of this operator's work and submit a report to it by April 1, 2019.

The Government recommended that the Office for Audit of Institutions in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina continue activities on auditing the operations of the Operator for RES and ECHP, and tasked the Management and the Supervisory Board to ensure this audit is completed.

The Supervisory Board of RES and ECHP and FERK were tasked to provide their opinions on the work and documents submitted today by RES and ECHP, and to submit their opinions, also by April 1, 2019, to the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

„The Government was today informed about the reports on the work of the Operator for RES and ECHP, as well as financial and audit reports for 2016 and 2017. The Operator is obliged to regularly, at least once every 12 months, report on its work and operations to the FBiH Government through the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry, and this ministry is obliged to monitor the work and operations of the Operator and, within the same period, inform the Federal Government thereof.

Also, a Decision was adopted determining the unit amount of the fee for incentivizing electricity production from RES and ECHP for 2019, which will amount to 0.002555 KM/kWh.
Collected fees on this basis will not be able to be distributed, concluded the Federal Government, until the Work Plan of the Operator for RES and ECHP for 2019 is adopted, which should follow after April 1, 2019.

The fee for incentivizing production from renewable energy sources and efficient cogeneration, which represents the product of the unit fee and the total calculated consumption of active electricity in kWh, is paid by all end customers of electricity in FBiH and is shown as a separate item on the electricity bill. In accordance with the Treaty establishing the Energy Community, the Ministerial Council of the Energy Community adopted on October 18, 2012, the Decision on the implementation of Directive 2009/28 on the promotion of electricity production from renewable sources, which set for Bosnia and Herzegovina a binding target of a 40 percent share of renewable energy sources in electricity consumption by 2020", it was announced from the FBiH Government.
