
At its second session, after dismissing four members of the Economic and Social Council of Sarajevo Canton due to the expiration of their mandate, the Government of Sarajevo Canton today appointed new members: Elmedin Konaković, Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton; Karolina Karačić, Minister of Labor, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees of Sarajevo Canton; Jasmin Halebić, Minister of Finance; and Muharem Šabić, Minister of Economy in Sarajevo Canton, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
According to the Agreement on the Establishment of the Economic and Social Council for the area of Sarajevo Canton, the Council has 12 members, with four members representing each signatory of the Agreement, provided that the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, the President of the Cantonal Board of the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Sarajevo Canton, and the President of the Employers' Association of Sarajevo Canton are ex officio members of the Council.
The Government adopted the Proposal for the Public Investment Program of Sarajevo Canton for 2015-2017, which is a supporting document to the Budget of Sarajevo Canton for 2015. The main objective of this Program is to align development projects with real sources of financing for their implementation, given that budget funds are insufficient for the multi-year financing of development projects. It includes current, already initiated, and candidate projects and covers all areas of activity, from education, infrastructure and superstructure to social security and environmental protection.
The material contains data for a total of 107 projects. The total planned value of all projects is 918,033,642.00 KM, of which 717,160,442.00 KM are current projects and 200,873,200.00 KM are candidate projects. Of the total planned value of current projects, 366,584,163.00 KM or 51.1 percent has been realized during the investment period. In the total realization of projects, funds from the Budget of Sarajevo Canton amount to 245,869,691.00 KM, accounting for 67.1 percent.
In 2015, the total funds needed to continue the implementation of current projects and begin the implementation of candidate projects are 112,843,805.00 KM, of which 28,317,332.00 KM or 25.1 percent need to be provided from the Budget of Sarajevo Canton for 2015, and 84,526,473.00 KM or 74.9 percent from other sources of financing.
