KS Government Establishes Direct Contacts with Russian Direct Investment Fund and AstraZeneca

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton is conducting intensive talks for the procurement of 100,000 vaccines, the KS press service announced tonight. The statement states that the KS Government has invited all interested suppliers registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina, who can ensure the import of vaccines to Sarajevo, to submit offers with clearly stated prices and delivery times. All interested parties can obtain a letter of intent from the Government of Sarajevo Canton.

- From the first day of our mandate, we have been constantly working to find ways to procure at least the minimum required 100,000 doses of vaccines for our citizens as soon as possible. We hold daily meetings and send correspondence because it is clear to us that we must do everything to ensure vaccines for our citizens, as higher levels of government have failed us, said Prime Minister Edin Forto.

So far, the Government of Sarajevo Canton has issued letters of intent to representatives of six companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina that have expressed interest in negotiating in order to collect offers for the procurement of vaccines, for which budget funds have been secured.

A direct contact has also been established with the management of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and representatives of AstraZeneca.

In order to procure vaccines for the citizens of the Canton as soon as possible, letters have been sent to the presidents and prime ministers of Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia asking them to sell certain quantities of vaccines to Sarajevo Canton at the prices they themselves paid for their procurement.
