KS Government offered an increase of the base salary from 315 to 330 for employees paid from the KS Budget

(Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton today made an offer to trade unions to increase the base salary for calculating wages for all employees paid from the KS Budget from the current 315 to 330 KM.

This was announced by Prime Minister Edin Forto after today's, third in a row, negotiations with representatives of trade unions representing the mentioned employees.

"This would mean an additional allocation of around 20 million KM from the KS budget for the salaries of about 14,000 employees. The reason we made this offer is the fact that inflation, according to official indicators, is between 4.5 and five percent. Our desire is to at least partially neutralize the cost of living due to rising prices, hoping that our incentives for the private sector will also help to keep up with the salaries of employees in that sector due to the increased cost of living," announced Prime Minister Forto.

According to him, trade union representatives left the negotiations dissatisfied.

"Trade unions have announced the possibility of rejecting this government proposal, and even a general strike. The government's position is that our offer is responsible at this moment and takes into account all objective circumstances," emphasized Prime Minister Forto.
