KS Government also without Minister of Economy, 20 million KM for economy and employment on hold due to Čelik

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - It is no secret that the KS Government has been working with a reduced composition for months, given that the Minister of Health has been missing since the end of July. Although there were two proposals for the Minister of Health nominated by DF, due to the disagreement of coalition partner SBB, that appointment was never even considered.

At the end of August, Prime Minister Mario Nenadić appointed Draško Jeličić, who is also the Minister of Economy, as acting Minister of Health. Jeličić resigned as acting Minister of Health on October 21. Given that he was hospitalized for health reasons, the KS Government now also lacks a responsible person for the economy sector.

Jasna Agić (SBB), who is also the resigning Minister of Labour and Social Policy, was appointed acting Minister of Health.

After Prime Minister Nenadić returned to work at the beginning of this week, after being infected with the coronavirus, he was met with numerous open issues. The Prime Minister is now dealing with the procurement of medical and protective equipment, finding a location for temporary accommodation for patients with mild coronavirus infections, coordinating with international organizations, communicating with two hospitals that admit Covid patients, and trying to provide conditions for the KS to cope with the pandemic as successfully as possible.

As Patria learns, Prime Minister Nenadić has already written two letters to the Speaker of the KS Assembly, Mirza Čelik (SDA), as he is not scheduling the continuation of the session, and numerous current issues are on hold. 10 million KM for economic aid is on hold, but the so-called "corona law" in KS must be amended, as well as the programs of the Employment Service, for which 10 million KM is also allocated. Čelik announced that the continuation of the session will be next week, when the conclusion on the moratorium on employment should finally be amended in order to unblock certain processes and necessary hirings. Čelik interrupted the session on November 3, and as he stated, now "the campaign is more important".
