FBiH Government: 1,400,000 liters of diesel fuel for farmers free of charge

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Government of the Federation of BiH, at the proposal of the Federal Commodity Reserves Directorate, at today's session in Sarajevo, made a Decision on granting permanent use free of charge of diesel fuel in the amount of 1,400,000 liters from the existing federal commodity reserves for agricultural producers (50 liters of fuel per hectare) in the Federation of BiH, according to official lists of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry and cantonal governments, for the purpose of urgent intervention caused by the rise in energy prices on the FBiH market.

This support can be realized by agricultural producers who received support per hectare of arable land at the federal or cantonal level last year, and who have updated their data in the Register of Agricultural Holdings and Client Register, and reported production in 2022.

The maximum amount of support cannot be higher than that achieved for the number of hectares of cultivated land in 2021.

Funds necessary for the realization of this decision will be provided from the current reserve of the Government of FBiH.

For the implementation of the Decision, the Government has tasked the Federal Commodity Reserves Directorate, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, and the Federal Ministry of Finance, each within their competences.
The Decision enters into force on the day it is made and will be published in the Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH.

This decision was made, as explained, after the Government of FBiH previously adopted the information from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, with a proposal of measures, and tasked the Federal Commodity Reserves Directorate to prepare a decision proposal with the aim of implementing measures and activities within its competence regarding the distribution of diesel fuel to agricultural producers in FBiH due to the extremely difficult and extraordinary situation caused by the rise in energy prices. The Federal Commodity Reserves Directorate has been tasked to carry out the necessary procedures and distribute the diesel fuel to agricultural producers.
