High Representative Valentin Inzko marks 22nd anniversary of helicopter crash at Prokoško Lake

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - High Representative Valentin Inzko today recalled the deaths of 12 OHR staff members and UN colleagues who died 22 years ago in a helicopter crash at Prokoško Lake.

“We cherish the memory of our colleagues Peter Backes, Livio Beccaccio, Andrzej Buler, David Kriskovich, Leah Melnick, Charles Morpeth, William Nesbitt, Marvin Padgett, Thomas
Reinhardt, Jurgen Schauf, Georg Stiebler and Gerd Wagner, who lost their lives for the cause to which they were deeply committed, despite the risks: the renewal of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thanks in large part to their efforts, this country made significant steps forward in the first decade after Dayton. Their dedication continues to inspire us to do everything in our power to prevent the reversal of the reforms whose foundations they helped build,” Inzko said.
