Multi-million investments in road infrastructure in Novi Grad, roundabouts, traffic routes

(Patria) - Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton Adnan Šteta attended today the signing of the contract for the construction of a new roundabout in the municipality of Novi Grad.

This is a roundabout at the intersection of Džemala Bijedića and Srđana Aleksića streets, near the cantonal company GRAS, one of several important projects to be realized in this municipality in the coming period. The project is worth around 1.4 million KM, of which the KS Ministry of Transport, through the Directorate for Roads, is investing 1.1 million KM for the construction of this roundabout.

"Significant funds have been invested so far by the Ministry of Transport and the Directorate for Roads in the municipality of Novi Grad, whether it is the renovation of existing or the construction of new traffic routes. This year, including capital projects on the IX transversal, the planned investment value is around 22 million KM," said Minister Šteta.

In addition to this project, the plan is to build a roundabout at the intersection of the IX transversal and Džemala Bijedića street this year, in accordance with the signed agreements, reconstruct the intersection at the junction with Braće Mulić and Branislava Nušića streets, renovate traffic routes in Majdanska, Bulevar Mimar Sinan and Džemala Bijedića streets from the bridge over the Miljacka river to the junction with the X transversal, and reconstruct Ahatovićka street.

"We are continuing with significant projects and investments in the infrastructure of this municipality. The results of the work in this municipality are visible, especially when it comes to large projects such as those on Džemala Bijedića street, where we have invested around three million marks so far, and with the completion of works on the IX transversal and its connection to the highway, where we have also invested significant funds in the amount of over 11 million KM, the image of both the municipality of Novi Grad and the entire canton will be significantly changed," concluded Minister Šteta.

In the coming period, the signing of contracts for other projects and preparations for the start of works are expected.
