(Patria) - Several countries have promised Ukraine a total of 321 heavy tanks, said the Ukrainian ambassador to France, agencies report.
"As of today, numerous countries have officially confirmed their agreement to deliver 321 heavy tanks to Ukraine," said Vadym Omelchenko, Ukrainian ambassador to France, in an interview with French TV station BFM.
"The delivery terms differ in each case and we need this help as soon as possible," he added.
Omelchenko did not provide data on the number of tanks each country will deliver individually. In recent days, the United Kingdom, Germany, and the United States announced that they would provide their tanks to Ukraine, and their decision was followed by a number of Western countries. Some of them announced that they would later consider delivering even more tanks and other weapons to Ukraine, which is facing Russian aggression.
