(Patria) - Antalya has long positioned itself as one of the most important tourist destinations on the Turkish Riviera, recognisable for its well-maintained beaches, top-class hotels and rich historical heritage. However, this city offers much more than just a holiday – today it is a strong and reliable global centre for hosting major international gatherings.
With a developed business ecosystem encompassing more than 300 five-star hotels and over 175,000 seats in congress halls, Antalya provides top-tier infrastructure for business travel. Following the successful organisation of demanding international events, such as the G20 Summit, the city has confirmed its status as a reliable location for the world's largest conferences and business meetings.
The event calendar for 2026 confirms this role through a series of major international conferences, cultural festivals and sports events.
Among the most significant gatherings in Antalya this year are:
● Sports & Events Türkiye, the first international sports tourism fair in Turkey (from 31 May to 3 June)
● 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) (from 5 to 9 October)
● United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31) (from 9 to 20 November)
In addition to business and scientific gatherings, the city will also host the traditional Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival, as well as sports events such as the Runtalya Marathon and the Turkish Airlines Open golf tournament.
Antalya Fashion Week (AFW): A global fashion stage
Among the key regional events is Antalya Fashion Week, whose ninth edition will be held from 2 to 4 June. The aim of this year's programme is to present local culture, the multicultural spirit and the specific geography of this area on the global fashion scene.

This year, the event brings innovative programmes and fashion shows at historical locations, accompanied by workshops and creative collaborations. The participation of leading Turkish designers, as well as designers from Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Kazakhstan, confirms the international character of this event.
Year-round offerings and tourism potential
Although Antalya is mainly known as a summer resort with 300 sunny days a year, the mild climate and diverse amenities make it attractive throughout the year. The city's offerings, ranging from visits to historical sites to culinary discoveries, are tailored to different traveller profiles even outside the summer season.
Located at the crossroads of three ancient regions, Antalya stands out for its deep historical heritage. Visitors can explore the charm of Kaleiçi, the old city centre, as well as world-famous archaeological sites including Aspendos, Patara, Side and Phaselis.
Antalya also offers excellent opportunities for active holidays, such as hiking, cycling and boat trips. Travellers can hike the legendary Lycian Way, cycle along the scenic routes of the Taurus Mountains, or set off on a cruise to discover the hidden coves of this region.
