
(Patria) - More than 60 people were killed in a terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall music venue in the city of Krasnogorsk in the Moscow region, a source in the Russian Investigative Committee told TASS.
"It has been preliminarily established that more than 60 people died in the terrorist attack. Unfortunately, the death toll may rise," the source said.
Investigators, forensic experts, and specialists from the Russian Investigative Committee, along with operational units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Federal Security Service, are continuing investigative actions at the scene, the source added.
The terrorist attack was carried out on Friday evening at the Crocus City Hall music center in the city of Krasnogorsk near Moscow. Unknown armed individuals with assault rifles opened fire. An explosion shook the building, causing a fire.
The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack, the Amaq agency announced on the group's Telegram channel, Reuters reported.
