Miner Nermin Šehić (41) was buried today at the cemetery in the Banovići settlement of Grivice, after he died two days ago in an accident in the mine, writes the Patria agency.
More than 2,000 of Nermin's friends came to the funeral. Among the first were miners, but also the entire management of the Banovići mine.
Local authorities, led by the mayor, were also at the funeral.
A Day of Mourning was declared in Banovići today. Flags were lowered to half-mast in front of the Municipality building, as well as on the buildings of public enterprises, institutions, and other organizations.
No public, cultural, or entertainment programs or events were held in public places. There was no music in catering facilities, writes NAP.
