(Patria) - More than 200 people, including about 70 children, died yesterday in a landslide at the Rubaya coltan mine in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The accident occurred after heavy rains that triggered a landslide, the Ministry of Mining announced, reports Reuters.
The Ministry's data sharply contrasts with earlier information given to Reuters by a high-ranking official of the M23 rebel group.
According to him, only five or six people lost their lives in the accident.
