More than 100 businesspeople held a meeting with Nikšić

 

More than a hundred of the most responsible people from public and private business entities from across the Federation of BiH responded today to the invitation of Federal Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić and attended a meeting with members of the FBiH Government dedicated to finding ways to mitigate the consequences of the catastrophic floods that have hit our country, writes the Patria News Agency.

Prime Minister Nikšić presented the Federal Government's initiative to establish a Fund for Assistance to Affected Areas to the businesspeople. Funds collected in this way would be used for urgent, interventionary reconstruction of residential units and infrastructure facilities.

Also, the Fund's resources would be intended for business entities that have suffered damages, in order to continue operations and preserve jobs. The Fund will be headed, as proposed, by a Management Board which will include representatives of the Federal Government and companies that contribute their resources to its operation.

According to the Federal Prime Minister, given the enormous scale of damage caused by floods and landslides, which cannot be repaired solely with domestic resources, significant involvement of the international community is also expected. The draft Statute of the Fund will be sent to all interested business entities for their comments and suggestions, and after the Government adopts it, it will be published on the FBiH Government's website.

Concluding the meeting with businesspeople, Prime Minister Nikšić said that today's gathering shows that even in these difficult times, there are a large number of those willing to offer selfless help and solidarity with those who suffered in this natural disaster. He thanked them for the great response to today's meeting, emphasizing that numerous companies have already sent concrete assistance to the affected areas.
