Press Council of BiH strongly condemns threats and attacks by Zoran Čegar

(Patria) - The Steering Board of the Press and Online Media Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina strongly condemns the threats and attacks by Zoran Čegar, Head of the Uniformed Police Sector of the Federal Police Administration, on journalists of the Center for Investigative Journalism, a full member of the Press and Online Media Council of BiH.

We consider such behavior by an official to be unacceptable, especially since he is part of a system that should protect laws, and that he should be banned from public office due to verbal attacks and attempts at physical assault on journalists.

It is the right of the media to investigate the actions of public figures and put them under scrutiny, and it is the right of the public to know. Preventing journalists from performing their duties, especially in such a crude manner, is subject to the harshest condemnation, it was announced.
