UN Security Council to discuss Srebrenica resolution on Wednesday, Russia announces veto

The session of the United Nations Security Council, where the draft resolution of Great Britain on Srebrenica will be discussed, has been postponed to Wednesday at 4 PM, and Russia has announced it will veto if the draft British resolution is not changed. Russians object to the mention of the word genocide and want it changed, or they will veto during tomorrow's discussion. We remind you that the discussion was first postponed for an hour due to the Russian threat of a veto, and then postponed again for 9 PM at China's request until a consensus is reached among all members not to discuss the resolution, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

 

Neither BiH nor Serbia will participate in the discussion, given that neither country is a member of the UN Security Council.

For the resolution to be adopted, a two-thirds majority is required, i.e., nine out of 15 countries, with the condition that none of the five permanent members (USA, Russia, China, France, and Great Britain) exercise their veto power.
