SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Draft Annual National Programme, prepared by the NATO Integration Process BiH Commission, is expected to be on the agenda of the Council of Ministers' session today. This document was requested from BiH at a meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) foreign ministers.
The adoption of this plan would ultimately mean the activation of the Membership Action Plan (MAP) for NATO, which BiH has been waiting for for years, and it includes answers to a set of questions in the areas of politics, defence, resources, and legal matters.
State ministers were supposed to consider this document at the first part of the session held on December 27 last year, but the item was removed from the agenda due to a request from representatives from Republika Srpska. Later, one session was postponed until today precisely because of this item.
Ministers from SDS are not prepared to support this programme.
Saša Magazinović, SDP MP in the State Parliament, previously told Patria that 'as things stand, by refusing to adopt the Annual National Programme which would activate the MAP, the Council of Ministers in its current composition is extending its own term'.
- As paradoxical as it may sound, the SNSD is preserving Mektić, Crnadak, and Šarović in their ministerial positions with such a political stance. They should explain to the public why they are doing this, as well as to the people from SNSD who are waiting to take positions in state government in coalition with SDA and HDZ after they jointly elected the leadership of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament – Magazinović said.
