
(Patria) - An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 hit Istanbul today. The epicenter, according to initial reports, was in the Sea of Marmara.
Ground tremors were also felt in the provinces surrounding Istanbul.
For now, there is no information about casualties.
Photos and videos being shared on social media show people going out into the streets after the tremor.

According to data from the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, Istanbul was hit by 3 earthquakes in 40 minutes, the strongest of which was magnitude 6.2.
