An armed attacker entered the premises of the ruling Justice and Development Party in a suburb of Istanbul today, reports Turkish agency Dogan, according to the Patria News Agency.
Shortly after, police arrested an armed man who entered the premises of the ruling Justice and Development Party in the Kartal district of Istanbul.
The Justice and Development Party is the most influential political party on the Turkish political scene, and its members include, among others, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
