VIDEO Iranian missiles hit the city of Arad in southern Israel

(Patria) - At least five people were killed and more than 100 injured in an Iranian ballistic missile attack on the city of Arad in southern Israel.

According to initial reports, a building where people were located collapsed after the attack, while another caught fire.

A total of nine buildings were damaged, and authorities express concern over the large number of people reported missing or trapped under the rubble.

A major disaster has been declared on the ground, and all available rescue forces and fire brigades have been engaged in the search for survivors. Helicopters are also arriving to assist. Attempts to intercept the attack were unsuccessful.

The Magen David Adom service announced that 33 people were transported to the hospital, including four people who were seriously injured, 12 with moderate injuries, and 17 with minor injuries. It was added that their teams will continue to "search the area for victims".
