VIDEO Drama at the border: Refugees break through cordon, police use stun grenades

Several hundred refugees managed to break through a police cordon on the border between Greece and Macedonia, and police again used stun grenades, reports the Patria news agency.

As Macedonian media report, police tried to push them back outside Macedonia's borders but failed as they scattered across the surrounding fields.

Police used blockades and vehicles to prevent one group of refugees from crossing into Macedonia via the border crossing, but a large number of them managed to escape and leave the no-man's land between the two countries through illegal routes.

In the no-man's land, where there are currently about a thousand refugees, including many children, the situation is very difficult, which further heightens the tension among the refugees who are in mud and surrounded by large amounts of garbage, reports Tanjug's reporter on the scene.

Police do not allow journalists to speak with the refugees, who in turn ask journalists to turn off their cameras and stop filming them because, as they say, they are not animals.
