(Patria) - The government of Venezuela announced yesterday that it has reached an agreement to resume repatriation flights for migrants from the US.
In a statement issued by the President of the Venezuelan Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, it is stated that the flights will begin today, Reuters reports.
"Migration is not a crime and we will not rest until all those who wish to return have returned, and we will rescue our kidnapped brothers in El Salvador," the statement reads.
The US paid El Salvador six million dollars to accept illegal immigrants from Venezuela who were slated for deportation to their home countries, the White House earlier announced.
