Large number of dead in Israeli attack on hospital convoy in Gaza

(Patria) - The Ministry of Health in Gaza, controlled by Hamas, announced today that many Palestinians were killed in an Israeli attack on a convoy of ambulances carrying the most severely wounded patients.

Ministry spokesperson Ashraf Al-Qudra had previously stated that severely wounded Palestinians, who urgently need to be transferred for treatment to Egypt, would be sent from Gaza City and the north of the enclave to the south.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced that one of their aircraft hit an ambulance "which forces identified as being used by a Hamas terrorist cell".

The IDF spokesperson said that "a number" of Hamas fighters were killed in the attack and that they would release more information.

He said that detailed information has already been shared with intelligence agencies with which Israel cooperates.

- We have information indicating that Hamas's method of operation is to transport terrorist operatives and weapons in ambulances. We emphasize that this area is a war zone. Civilians in the area are constantly urged to evacuate south for their own safety - he said.
