Major police operation in Brussels, two explosions heard

Two strong explosions were heard in the Brussels suburb of Schaerbeek where an anti-terror operation is underway, reports RT, as carried by the Patria news agency.

Special units of the federal police entered a building in Schaerbeek, where one explosion was also heard, according to the Belga news agency. One man was "neutralized", reported the state channel RTBF. This information has not been officially confirmed.

The search of a house in Schaerbeek is part of the investigation following the bomb terrorist attacks in Brussels in which at least 31 people were killed and 316 wounded. Meanwhile, the AFP news agency reports that the afternoon anti-terror operation in Brussels is linked to a foiled terrorist attack in France, writes Index.
