SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Sarajevo Canton Government's action titled "It's Time to Clean" began this morning at numerous locations throughout the Canton.
The cleaning includes: mowing, clearing, hygiene, collection, loading, and removal from public green areas, manual and mechanical cleaning, washing, extraordinary transport of municipal waste, and washing of containers and niches.
The "Drum Orchestra" will use drums to call citizens to wake up and remind them that it is time to clean.
Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister Edin Forto said at a press conference on Friday that the action was initiated because people had started living in a dirty city.
"The point is not to clean the city once. We will ensure that we systematically introduce cleanliness as something that is taken for granted. The point is to bring cleanliness back as a standard," Forto said.
