(Patria) - US President Donald Trump announced on his social network Truth Social that Iran has been fiercely attacked, claiming that Tehran, under pressure from US and Israeli strikes, was forced to yield.

Trump claimed that Iran apologized to its neighboring countries in the Middle East and promised not to attack them again.

"This promise was made only because of the relentless US and Israeli strikes," Trump wrote.

He added that Iran had previously tried to take control of the Middle East, but that now, as he claims, it has been defeated by neighboring countries for the first time in its history.

In the post, he called Iran the "former bully of the Middle East," which has now become the "loser of the region."

In the post, he also threatened new strikes, stating that targeting additional sites not previously on the list of targets is being considered.

"Due to Iran's bad behavior, the complete destruction of certain areas and groups that have not been considered as targets up to this point is being seriously considered," Trump wrote.

In the US strikes on Iran, schools and a hospital were targeted. In one school alone, 160 female students were killed.

Hamidreza Gholamzadeh, director of the Iranian think tank DiploHouse, said that Trump's interpretation of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian's statement as a surrender is completely wrong.

According to him, Pezeshkian, in a pre-recorded video message, merely reiterated the policy Iran has been pursuing for the past seven days - Iran does not attack neighboring countries, but targets US or Israeli interests in the region.

Gholamzadeh added that Iran is asking its neighbors to stop cooperating with the United States and Israel and not to allow them to use their territory or airspace for attacks on Iran.

He described such a request as "very normal" and "legal."
