Vatrić for Patria: Passengers were boarding the GRAS bus at the moment of the attack, the driver is still in shock

The driver of the GRAS bus, who was boarding passengers at the stop in Rajlovac at the moment of Enes Omeragić's attack last night, is in great shock the day after this crime, confirmed Avdo Vatrić, GRAS director, for the Patria agency.

He stated that the bus driver R.G. is an employee with many years of experience, and at the moment of the attack, great panic and fear arose among the passengers. Vatrić reconstructed the attack for Patria, and according to the driver, the attacker approached with a hood over his head and fired a number of shots through the door glass.

- He also shot diagonally across the bus, the glass shattered and the roof structure was damaged. After that, the attacker left, and the driver turned off the lights in the bus and lay down on the floor – says Vatrić.

A greater tragedy was avoided by sheer luck, and several passengers suffered injuries from glass shards.

- We tried to get to the scene last night, but the police did not allow us to approach due to the ongoing investigation. The driver was questioned, and the bus was transferred to the GRAS premises around 3 AM. We found one bullet in the roof structure, and we will try to repair the damage to the bus – said Vatrić.

We remind you that around 7:30 PM, Omeragić, armed with an automatic rifle, killed two members of the BiH Armed Forces in the "5 plus" sports betting shop, and upon leaving the betting shop, he shot at a bus that passengers were boarding. The attacker fled the scene and headed to his family home in the settlement of Sokolje. The police soon surrounded him, and shortly thereafter, Omeragić committed suicide.
