Vasić: Attack in Banja Luka not a terrorist act

The bomb attack on a bus in Banja Luka is not, according to all indicators so far, a terrorist attack, Gojko Vasić, director of the Republika Srpska police, stated for the BH News Agency Patria (NAP).

- Based on what we know so far, and the investigation will reveal everything, this is not terrorism. The act will be characterized as causing general danger with fatal consequences, or aggravated murder – Vasić told us.

Banja Luka has been in shock since this morning after an explosion occurred in a city bus, and the driver, B. T., died. According to media reports, there are also injured, but the police could not yet confirm that. As witnesses stated, the attacker, dressed in black, caught up with the bus at the station and, when the driver opened the doors, simply threw in a bomb.

Vasić told NAP that the attacker is currently being located.

- Efforts are underway to locate him, and we believe we have identified him. The public will be informed soon – Vasić said.
