Extraordinary Session: Banja Luka City Assembly in a New Attempt to Adopt Budget

The Banja Luka City Assembly will consider the proposal for a new budget for this year, amounting to 149.4 million KM, at an extraordinary session today. Head of the councilors' club Dragoslav Topić expects the Mayor of Banja Luka, Draško Stanivuković, to accept the proposed amendments. He stated that the assembly majority will not give up on the amendments, as this is the minimum condition for them to support the budget.

He stated that Stanivuković's claims that the assembly majority only slightly softened the proposed amendments are untrue. He added that the amendments have been reduced by several million KM compared to the initial budget proposal.

Representatives of the assembly majority in Banja Luka previously announced that they would support the city budget with two amendments. One million KM is allocated for pro-natal policy, and 2.7 million KM for one-time assistance to healthcare workers.

The extraordinary session of the City Assembly is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
