Vance: Washington sees evidence Iran is trying to revive nuclear program

(Patria) - The United States sees evidence that Iran is trying to revive its nuclear program after attacks led by US forces on Iranian nuclear sites in June, stated Vice President JD Vance, Reuters reports.


US President Donald Trump has repeatedly said that the June attacks destroyed Iranian nuclear sites and that he will not allow Tehran to revive the program.


"The principle is very simple: Iran cannot have nuclear weapons," Vance told reporters, the day before talks in Geneva between the US and Iranian delegations.


Vance said that US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will meet with the Iranian delegation in Geneva on Thursday to assess whether an agreement can be reached, with a massive US military presence in the region.
