(Patria) - US Vice President J. D. Vance stated on Sunday that his negotiating team is leaving Pakistan after no agreement was reached with Iran, even after 21 hours of negotiations.
Vance said that the American negotiators are returning home because Iran did not agree to American terms, including the commitment not to develop nuclear weapons.
"The bad news is that we did not reach an agreement, and I think that news is much worse for Iran than for the United States," Vance said. "So, we are returning without an agreement. We have made our red lines very clear."
U.S. Vice President JD Vance said that “We leave here with a very simple proposal. A method of understanding that is our final and best offer.” It now appears that the talks have concluded after failing to merit any form of U.S.-Iranian convergence on positions. pic.twitter.com/oJkpWCks3l

Vance said he spoke with US President Donald Trump several times during the negotiations.
"We simply need to see Iran's commitment not to develop nuclear weapons and the tools that would enable it to quickly develop such weapons," Vance said at a brief press conference in Islamabad. "That is our fundamental demand".
The US Vice President noted that Iran's nuclear program is "destroyed", but emphasized that "fundamental commitment" from Tehran not to develop such weapons in the future is needed. "We have not seen that yet. We hope we will."
Vance thus suggested, CNN writes, that Iran's nuclear program is the biggest problem in the negotiations. "We are leaving here with a very simple proposal, our best and final offer. We will see if the Iranians accept it," Vance concluded.
