Vance: Iran still not ready to recognize Trump's 'red lines'

(Patria) - Iran has not agreed to all the "red lines" set by US President Donald Trump for a diplomatic solution, said Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday after talks in Geneva, AFP reported.

Vance appeared to indicate that the United States remains interested in diplomacy, after Trump threatened force if Tehran does not agree on key issues, starting with its nuclear program.

"In some respects, it went well. They agreed to meet afterwards," Vance said in an interview with Fox News.

"But in other respects, it was very clear that the President had drawn some red lines that the Iranians are not yet ready to actually acknowledge and walk through," Vance told "The Story with Martha MacCallum.".

"We will continue to work on that. But of course, the President reserves the right to say when he thinks diplomacy has reached its natural end," Vance said.

"We hope we don't get to that point, but if we do, that will be the President's decision," Vance said.
