Valas visits Livno and Mostar: BiH's security and stability are important for the entire region

(Patria) - The security and stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina are important for the entire region, and on that path, you can count on NATO's support as your partner, stated the Commander of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, Brigadier General Matthew Valas, during his visit to Livno and Mostar today.

In Livno, Valas met with Colonel Vjekoslav Puharić, Commander of the 1st Infantry Battalion of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The focus of the talks was on the continuity of the modernization of the AF BiH so that they can better serve all citizens with the aim of contributing to regional stability.

As part of his visit to Mostar, Valas met with the Director of the Agency for Education and Professional Training of Personnel, Marko Vujević.

Valas emphasized the importance of strong, professional, and responsible security institutions and highlighted the Agency's important role in establishing standards and creating quality training programs for law enforcement personnel.

In this context, NATO's commitment to broader reform of the defense and security sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina was highlighted.
