Vaccines spoiled, no dismissal at Prijedor Health Center

City Assembly of Prijedor councilors did not accept the proposal for the dismissal of the acting director of the Health Center, Slobodan Јavor, which he submitted due to the spoilage of 1,300 vaccines.

None of the councilors voted for this proposal, 19 were against, and six abstained.

Head of the SNSD councilors' club, Goran Velaula, said that the voting outcome showed that even the opposition was not in favor of dismissing the director and that in this situation, it is necessary to wait for the results of the investigation, not to prejudge the outcome.

Head of the DNS councilors' club, Goran Predojević, pointed out that Prijedor Health Center has all the conditions for maintaining the cold chain for vaccine preservation, all prescribed procedures, including actions during power outages or equipment malfunctions, and that it is evident that the human factor failed and someone must be held responsible for it.

“We did not receive information about that because the investigation is ongoing, and without that and concrete details, it is logical for us to abstain during the vote,” said Predojević.

Јavor said that he cannot provide information and details because the investigation is ongoing, and that for moral reasons, he offered his resignation at a press conference the day after it was determined that the cold chain had been broken.
