Seasonal flu vaccination starts tomorrow in Sarajevo Canton health centers

(Patria) - The Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton and the Health Insurance Fund of KS, in cooperation with the JU Health Center KS and the Institute for Public Health KS, organized the "Preventive vaccination of insured persons against seasonal flu" campaign, which begins tomorrow /Thursday/ November 11, 2021.

9,400 doses of Vaxigrip Tetra vaccine, manufactured by Sanofi Pasteur, for which the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of BiH has issued a quality control certificate, have been secured.

Vaccination will be carried out at 58 locations, i.e., in all family medicine clinics of the JU Health Center KS.

"The free vaccine is intended for: pensioners and persons over 65 years of age, pregnant women, chronically ill patients, immunocompromised patients (adults and children), RVI and civilian war victims, employees in healthcare institutions, employees in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, employees in public city transport engaged in passenger transport, and teachers," emphasize the Ministry of Health of KS.

They particularly emphasize that the seasonal flu vaccine can be given at the same time as the COVID-19 vaccine.

Persons who are in a state of high fever, suffer from infectious diseases in the acute phase, or are hypersensitive to egg proteins or any component of the vaccine cannot receive the vaccine.

All insured persons who are unable to visit their family medicine clinic (immobile) should contact their family doctor, who will ensure the engagement of the mobile teams that have been engaged.
