Causes of the highway accident: Audi was traveling at 200 km/h

The causes of the serious traffic accident that occurred yesterday on the A1 highway near Ilijaš, when an Audi 8 car was literally cut in half by the force of the impact and in which one person was fatally injured, are still unknown, writes the Patria agency.

The exact speed at which the car was traveling is also unknown, but it is clear that the driver lost control, hit a concrete wall, and bounced off another car on the highway. The co-driver died at the scene, while the driver was in shock after the accident. He was released for home treatment.

Sources of the Patria agency, who deal with such traffic accident cases, claim that the vehicle must have been traveling at more than 200 km per hour. Only at that speed, upon impact, would the car have disintegrated into parts.

- The Audi 8 car has proven to be the most durable in all tests, which is why I believe the speed at which this car was traveling could not have been less than 200 km per hour - says Patria's source.

It is even assumed that the car, at one point after contact with the guardrail, lifted off the ground and "flew" until it hit the surface. More details about the accident itself should be known during the day.
