SHOCKING VIDEO Turkey: Dozens dead and wounded in explosion

The Turkish Ministry of Interior announced that 27 people were killed and over 100 wounded in a bomb explosion in the town of Suruç, reports the Patria News Agency. 

However, Turkish media speculate that more than 30 people were killed in the explosion and that a cluster bomb is suspected to have detonated.

The cause of the explosion in the cultural center in southeastern Turkey, a town about ten kilometers from the Syrian city of Kobani, is still unknown, Turkish officials announced, Reuters reports.

Local authorities confirmed to Reuters that ten people died, and witnesses told the agency that the death toll was twice as high.

It is not yet known what caused the explosion, but as the town of Suruç is located just ten kilometers from the Syrian border town of Kobani, where major battles with ISIL members took place recently, the Islamic State is suspected to be behind this attack.

At least 300 members of the Socialist Youth Association were in the Amara Cultural Center, participating in a summer expedition to help rebuild Kobani, Turkish media report.
