Nearly 300 students from the Vocational High School in Jajce and their colleagues from other towns are protesting in front of the SBK Government in Travnik.
They are demanding that the cantonal minister of education, Katica Čerkez, address them, but the minister refuses to appear before the students.
The students are chanting slogans: “Kato, we love you, but we also pay you”
The local authorities in the Central Bosnia Canton attempted to divide the Vocational High School in Jajce into two schools, with one offering classes according to the Croatian curriculum and the other according to the Bosnian curriculum. The students strongly opposed the new divisions in their town. They warned that there are currently 54 schools in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina known as 'two schools under one roof,' where students are divided along national lines, and they do not want to become the 55th such school.
