Live from the streets of Pristina: Clash between demonstrators and police, injuries reported

Several thousand activists of Self-Determination and citizens of Kosovo gathered in Skenderbeg Square in Pristina protesting against the statements of the Minister in the Government of Kosovo, Aleksandar Jablanović, and demanding that the Trepča combine become a public enterprise, reports the Patria News Agency.  

The police were given an ultimatum to remove the barricades they had erected, and since this did not happen, representatives of Self-Determination began to clash with the police.

Kosovo Police again intervened with large quantities of tear gas towards the demonstrators. There are injured and detained individuals. Ambulances have also arrived, taking away the injured.

The gathered people are carrying banners saying "No state without Trepča", "Trepča is ours, not Serbian", "Isa (Prime Minister of Kosovo Mustafa) is Serbia's servant", "Hashim (First Deputy Prime Minister Hashim) to prison", "Jablanović out", "Down with the government from Raška".

- Jablanović called the mothers of Đakovica savages. We are making it clear to the Government, the Kosovo Police, that we are not savages and that so much security is not necessary. We demand that Trepča immediately become a public enterprise, it was stated at the demonstrations.

The demonstrators, led by the opposition Self-Determination Movement, are demanding the resignation of Minister Aleksandar Jablanović and that Trepča immediately become a public enterprise, which is opposed by the Serbian Government and political representatives of Serbs from Kosovo.
