Two suspects in the attack on the Charlie Hebdo editorial office in northeastern Paris have taken at least one hostage, police sources say. Earlier in the day, shots were fired at a car carrying the Kouachi brothers. According to media reports, shots were fired near Charles de Gaulle Airport. The Kouachi brothers took a hostage in Dammartin-en-Goele, a few kilometers from the airport.

The Kouachi brothers, two French jihadists of Algerian origin suspected of the attack on Charlie Hebdo, are still on the run on Friday morning, and intervention forces are tracking them, reports the Patria News Agency.

In Washington, US officials revealed that Cherif and Said Kouachi had been on the US terrorist blacklist for years, and that Said Kouachi had trained in weapons handling in Yemen.

Since Thursday, the search has focused on a vast rural and wooded area about 80 kilometers northeast of Paris. Conducted with the help of helicopters, it continued during the night, with slightly fewer forces.
