(Patria) - A woman (49) was killed, her 59-year-old husband is fighting for his life in a Zagreb hospital, after an as-yet-unknown man broke into their home in Pleškovec and attacked them.
In the tragedy, the son was also injured and is receiving care at the hospital in Čakovec, while the daughter is receiving psychological support.
It is suspected that the massacre was carried out by a relative.
The Međimurje police reported that on Sunday at 5:25 AM they received a report that two people with visible serious injuries were found in a family home in Pleškovec.
Upon the arrival of emergency services at the scene, a 49-year-old woman was found who had died from her injuries at the scene, while the 59-year-old man was transported to the hospital in Čakovec and then transferred to Zagreb.
The police are searching for one person, and all available forces are combing the area, with drones and tracker dogs also deployed.
