Introduce a moratorium on loan repayment installments for all who request a payment deferral

(Patria) - The Association of Employers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina calls on the Banking Agency of the Federation of BiH and all commercial banks operating in the territory of FBiH to finally understand the gravity of the situation in which natural and legal persons have found themselves due to the coronavirus pandemic. UPFBiH calls on the Banking Agency and FBiH to stop their calculating and autistic behavior and demands that the moratorium apply to everyone who requests a deferral of loan repayment installments, and not for banks to assess who will be granted a deferral of loan repayment and who will not.

"In a situation where the priority is to preserve people's health and lives, jobs, and to maximally reduce the negative consequences of the coronavirus pandemic on the economy, the Banking Agency of FBiH and banks are behaving autistic and calculatingly. UPFBiH absolutely supports measures that will preserve the stability of the financial sector, but we demand that banks, without too much administration and paperwork, help the economy overcome the negative impacts of the coronavirus pandemic with as few consequences as possible.

In this regard, we demand that the Banking Agency of FBiH make a decision that will allow all natural and legal persons who request it to defer the collection of loan installments whose creditworthiness has deteriorated, or whose sources of repayment have decreased and thus made it impossible or will make it impossible to meet obligations to the bank, if this is a consequence of the negative impact caused by the pandemic of the viral disease "COVID-19", say UPFBiH.

UPFBiH emphasizes that the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic must be borne by everyone, including banks, and reminds that banks largely owe their stability in the banking sector in FBiH and BiH to domestic entrepreneurs.
