Law adopted: Workers will be able to check online whether their employer is paying contributions

Employees in the Federation of BiH will soon be able to check for themselves whether their employer is paying contributions, with the help of an internet platform currently under development, reports the Patria agency.

Members of the FBiH Parliament today adopted the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Unique System of Registration, Control and Collection of Contributions, which will regulate this area.

A novelty in the amendments to the Law on the Unique System of Registration, Control and Collection of Contributions is that the employer will have to register the employee a day before the worker starts the employment relationship.

The government claims that the new legal solution will prevent work by workers who are not registered. Under the old legal solution, the employer was obliged to register the worker within seven days. A large number of employers abused this possibility. The most common response to labor inspectors, who would find a worker without insurance, was that the worker had started working a day or two earlier and that the employer planned to register the worker anyway by tomorrow, reports Patria.
