Draft Budget of Centar Municipality Adopted in the Amount of 45,610,870 KM

The Centar Municipal Council at today's session unanimously determined the Draft Budget of the Centar Municipality for 2017 in the amount of 45,610,870 KM with the accompanying decision on budget execution, which will be sent for public discussion for a period of 28 days, reports Patria.

As in previous years, during the public discussions that begin on January 5, 2017, citizens will actively participate in the creation of the municipal budget, and during that time, projects and activities for the calendar year 2017 will be determined.

Upon adoption of the most important document for the functioning of the Centar Municipality, Mayor Nedžad Ajnadžić, in his explanation to the present councilors, clarified the most important characteristics of this document. He noted that expenditures compared to 2016 have been reduced by 1,401,000 KM and that by the adoption of the Centar Municipality budget for the next year, current expenses are planned to be reduced and capital investments will be attempted to be increased.

- For capital expenditures in the budget for next year, we have planned an amount of 20,603,000 KM, or 45.1 percent of the proposed budget, which makes it a development budget. Capital investments themselves have increased and now amount to 14,616,937 KM. In the next year, by August, we plan to complete the construction of the water supply system in Nahorevo and are already preparing the project documentation for the water supply of the Alepi settlement from the Uroševo vrelo source, for which we have allocated financial resources. Also, next year we plan to arrange the square in Ciglane and in front of the National Theatre, as well as to build an underground shelter and a public garage in front of the FIS building. We have increased the amount for scholarships for pupils and students, and now 400,000 KM is provided.

Among other projects, the creation of a database of the Centar Municipality's property, the arrangement of ten fenced parks for the youngest, the installation of thermal facades on the buildings of two primary schools, a project for financial support for the development of youth businesses, and projects for youth employment, the construction of sports fields, the formation of a technological-IT park, and the continuation of the construction of facilities for displaced persons in cooperation with the Sarajevo Canton are planned.

It is planned to bring all parking lots in the Centar area under the control of the municipal administration and public areas located within the road belt of local roads that are maintained by the Centar Municipality.

- Also, by redirecting funds for the arrangement of Šip, which are currently paid into the account of the Sarajevo Canton Construction Institute, to the development of the local community, we will have one million more marks, and we expect significant funds from the collection of fees for public advertising, the issuance of municipal apartments under favorable conditions, stricter control of the use of public areas in Centar, and the amendment of the existing conditions for renting municipal business premises, Ajnadžić emphasized.

For the next year, the formation of a municipal utility company has been announced, which will take care of the collection of fees for public parking, stray dogs, collection of water consumption for users of local water supply systems in Nahorevo, and will take care of all Centar Municipality property, as well as the functioning of the inclined elevator in Ciglane, if an agreement is reached with the company "Gras".
