N1 Editorial Board from Luxembourg: It is horrifying that in the 21st century, in the heart of Europe, journalists are being attacked

The Editorial Board of N1 television strongly condemns the physical attack by members of the Ravna Gora Chetnik movement on the N1 television crew in Draževina near Višegrad. Reporter Adisa Ibrahimović and cameraman Alen Skorupan, from the N1 Sarajevo center, were prevented by force, in the most brutal manner, from attempting to do their job in Višegrad and report on the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the arrest of Chetnik leader Draža Mihailović.

The Editorial Board of N1 television, based in Luxembourg, views this attack as the most direct assault on media freedom and calls on the competent institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina to react urgently, apprehend and punish those responsible for the attack on our crew.

The gathering of the Ravna Gora Chetniks was announced to the local police station, which means that the journalist crews should have been provided security and allowed to carry out their task.

This event once again reminded us of the extremely difficult circumstances in which journalists work in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Editorial Board of N1 television, CNN's exclusive partner for the region, states that today's physical attack on the crew will not prevent the leading news television in BiH and the region from continuing its mission of professionally informing the public about all important events.

It is horrifying that in the 21st century, in the heart of Europe, journalists are being attacked in the most brutal manner while performing their professional duties. Therefore, we once again call on all competent institutions to react so that attacks on journalists, threats to media freedom, reporting and professional work do not recur.
