Despite a major tragedy: 'OceanGate' continues to advertise 'trips' to the Titanic

(Patria) - OceanGate, the company behind the unfortunate Titan submersible expedition, is still advertising trips to the Titanic wreck.

OceanGate's website states that two expeditions to the Titanic are scheduled for 2024, taking place from June 12-20 and June 21-29.

Additionally, the site mentions that the 2023 Titanic mission is currently underway.

Each "trip" to the Titanic costs $250,000 per person and includes one dive, private accommodation, necessary training, expedition equipment, and all meals during the journey.

The maximum capacity for each dive is limited to six people, with a minimum age requirement of 17.

The website provides details about accommodation, including sleeping quarters and shared bathrooms, with Wi-Fi availability on the submersible, reports Index.hr.

The site also features photos and videos showcasing scenes from previous expeditions and testimonials from participants.

The Titan journey to the Titanic is described on OceanGate's website as an "expedition to dive on the iconic wreck".

"Fearless travelers will set sail from the Atlantic coast of Canada on an eight-day expedition to dive on the iconic wreck located 661 kilometers off the coast and 3,800 meters below the surface," states the OceanGate website.

OceanGate's marketing emphasizes that the dive offers not only an exciting and unique travel experience but also contributes to scientific research and understanding of the wreck and the deep ocean environment.

"The dive will provide not only an exciting and unique travel experience but also help the scientific community learn more about the wreck and the deep ocean environment.

Each dive also has a scientific objective, and you can learn more about the research we support here," the OceanGate website states.

The submersible journey lasts eight days and seven nights, starting in St. John's, Canada.

Despite the recent tragedy, the website mentions potential experts who could join future expeditions.

Among the passengers who lost their lives in the submersible was 77-year-old Titanic expert Paul-Henri Nargeolet.
